Import a List of Contacts (CSV File)

Step 1: Navigate to Data Import
- Go to SalesAi.
- Click Contacts on the left-hand side.
- Select Data Import.
Step 2: Start a New Import
- Click Import.
- Enter a descriptive name for your import
(ex: “Webinar Leads 6/10”)
Step 3: Upload Your File
- Upload your file by:
- Dragging and dropping
- OR clicking Browse your computer
Supported formats:
- CSV
- XLSX
File Formatting Tips (Important)
According to the guide (page 4 pop-up):
- Include column headers in the first row
- Use one row per contact
- Include required fields
- Phone number = unique identifier
This is the #1 place imports fail—worth double-checking.
Step 4: Import Data
- Click Import Data to proceed.
Step 5: Map Your Fields
- Match spreadsheet columns to SalesAi fields:
- First Name → First Name
- Last Name → Last Name
- Phone → Phone Number
- Title → Job Title
SalesAi may auto-map some fields.
Decide Conflict Behavior
For existing contacts, choose:
- ✅ Overwrite → Replace existing data
- ❌ Don’t Overwrite → Keep existing data
This setting appears in the “Conflict Strategy” column (page 6).
Step 6: Complete Import
- Click Import Contacts.
Step 7: Verify Import Status
- Go to the Data Import list.
- Confirm status shows “Success”.
Step 8: Review Results
- Click the import entry to view:
- Successfully imported contacts
- Failed records
- Error count
On page 8, you can see a breakdown of:
- Contacts imported
- Failed to import
- Specific errors per record
Quick Checklist Before Importing
- File has headers
- Phone numbers are valid and formatted
- No duplicate rows
- Required fields included
- Column names are clean and clear
