Creating a Twilio Subaccount

This guide provides a straightforward process for creating subaccounts in Twilio, which can help you effectively manage and segment customer accounts.

Not a visual learner? No problem! Here’s a straightforward, step-by-step guide in text form:

  • Navigate to Twilio: Go to Twilio's platform and log in.

  • Access Admin Settings: In the top-right corner, click on "Admin" and then select "Account Management."

  • Click on Subaccounts: On the left-hand side, click on "Subaccounts" to manage subaccounts for your Twilio account.

  • Review Subaccount Information: Subaccounts are separate accounts owned by your main account. They allow you to manage resources for each customer independently. Note that closed subaccounts will be automatically deleted after 30 days.

  • Create a New Subaccount: Click "Create Subaccount" and provide a "Friendly Name" for the subaccount (e.g., the name of the customer or the purpose of the subaccount).

  • Primary Customer Profile and EIN: Each subaccount requires a new Primary Customer Profile and a unique Business EIN, which cannot be the same as the primary Twilio account.

  • Finalize Creation: Click "Create Subaccount" to finalize the process.

  • View and Manage Subaccounts: Once created, your subaccount will appear in the list with an assigned SID. You can easily switch between the primary account and subaccounts using the dropdown menu at the top.

  • Switch to a Subaccount: If needed, you can click "View Subaccounts" to access and manage subaccounts. From there, you can select the subaccount you need to work on.
